Kicking of proceedings were the widely tipped and super talented Bony Ghosts who had the already excited crowd on their feet with their anthemic indie offerings including the fantastic Mona Lisa, a belter of a song with soaring guitars and a bold, rousing chorus that set the scene for the rest of the evening - MusicNews.com Bony Ghosts sound like the finished article already. Their songs are infectious, ambitious, epic and massively anthemic. They sound like a band that are aiming for the stars and the songs on their MySpace page sound stadium worthy already. So many bands are trying to be cool and trendy these days. It's refreshing to come across an unsigned band like this every now and then. A band that writes BIG songs. Bony Ghosts (to coin a phrase/steal one from Levis) are ones to watch - BackstagePassMusic.com When Music-news.com hit Preston this Summer we introduced to the MN faithful the fantastic Bony Ghosts. Hailing from the North West the six piece band knocked our socks off - so much so that we decided seeing them live wasn't enough. Indeed, the boys demo has been a firm favourite at Music-news HQ ever since. With rousing guitar riffs, raw energy and the type of northern swagger that made Liam Gallagher legendary the boys deliver a crop of new tracks you'll find it impossible to ignore. Mona Lisa is a big, bolshy number with excitable guitars and a huge, anthemic chorus you can almost hear festival-goers singing along to while The Curse has underlying smidgens of Joy Division with pounding, thumping bass and electro riffs. The Manchester bands of old have clearly had an influence but this is not your run of the mill wannabe. Bony Ghosts are most certainly ones to watch - MusicNews.com Next up were Howfen band Bony Ghosts with an energetic set of foot-stomping indie anthems that made anyone in the crowd who'd gotten a little distracted during changeover take notice! Big, atmospheric tracks that would work just as well at a festival or stadium as they did at the intimate Preston venue - MusicNews.com "Mona lisa is an instant classic" fit to grace any festival stage this is the sound of summer 2009, pure energy and rousing hook, a cocktail to die for mix. Oasis, a dash of Ian Brown & stone roses, a splash of the verve topped off with a sterophonics anthemic umberella to serve up the ultimate music mix. A must see this summer - Buzz Live Music | |||
